Drive To Sparks Nevada.

Today was moving day again, John slaved away at the wheel for 60 miles from Zephyr Cove to Sparks. We will be in Sparks for four nights where we will stay at the Sparks Marina RV Park. We had intended to spend the week at the Zephyr Cove Resort but beginning today their daily rate jumped by $25.00 so we decided to move on and stay here for half the price.

Today’s drive went well, we made it to the top of Spooner Summit on Hwy 50 and downshifted for the ride down to Carson City, from Carson City to Reno and Sparks the ride was fairly straight and level. After setting up at Sparks we realized that we spent more time packing and setting up today than we spent on the road.

Nice view from Spooner Summit.

We took our time coasting down to Carson City.

The trip down from Spooner Summit was in the 6% grade range.

We took Hwy 395 from Carson City to Reno, it was mainly straight and level; there is a lot of road construction underway or about to start along this route.

Reno traffic was light when we came in but later in the afternoon this road was packed and moving slow.

Our site at Sparks Marina.

We have a few things to attend to in the next few days including a flat bicycle tire and a switch that doesn’t want to work, we will also do our weekly chores. This afternoon we made a trip to a bicycle shop for the tire tube (John thought he had one but did not). We also made a few stops looking for a replacement switch but a tech at an electronics store tested the switch and said it works properly so we will check the connections or look for a faulty relay in the system.
