Wednesday was a packing day for our pending move from Mesa but we did get together with John’s family for dinner. We had a nice time and a good meal, if we return to Mesa next year we will time it better so we can attend some Brewers games.
This morning we moved from Mesa to Quartzsite; we disconnected and moved off our lot onto the street to hook up the CRV. The worst traffic we had to work through was inside Valle del Oro, Thursday is Country Fair Day which is a polite term for flea market and it packs the place with a lot of people and cars that seem to gather in the center of the park; unfortunately we had to drive through this area to get out the exit. Sandy had to get out of the motorhome and walk in front directing traffic on the narrow streets and spotting John as he made some 90 degree turns while avoiding parked cars and pedestrians. If we return to this place we would never arrive or leave on Country Fair Day, make sure you ask when you make a reservation.
The drive through Phoenix went well, a lot of traffic on roads big enough to take it got us out of the metro area and on our way quickly. It was 155 miles to Quartzsite, we did not stop for fuel so we arrived at The Holiday Palms RV Park while the office was closed for lunch. After lunch we registered and set up for our one night stay, later we hit the hot tub for the first time in a couple of weeks.
KoKo relaxes in the sun during the drive.
Our site at Holiday Palms, KoKo checks it out.
Quartzsite is located in a valley surrounded by picturesque hills and mountains, quite different from what we expected. Unfortunately we won’t have time to look around as we will be moving on to the Golden State tomorrow.

Oh gosh, I thought for a moment there that you got a second dog!!! LOL
How horrible for traffic that you had to get out and make way and clear the path? Steve would have just blasted the big dual airhorns at people to MAKE em move! Sounds kinda like an ocean liner--- hahahahaha
