Sandy was celebrating her birthday today with a walk in the park and supper at a good Mexican restaurant. We drove back to Saguaro National Park East this morning for a three and one half mile walk, then it was back to the mothership and a walk with KoKo to the dog run before cleaning up for an early supper at The Guadalajara Grill in Tucson.
At Saguaro National Park we chose a loop composed of the Loma Verde, Pink Hill and Squeeze Pen Trails. Unlike our first visit to Saguaro East this route took us closer to the hills and involved some elevation change, nothing near Saguaro West but it did add to the interest factor.
We crossed a few washes but the water wasn’t a problem.
Some interesting shapes on the Saguaro.
A nice day for a birthday.
The trail had some interesting twists and turns.
John enjoyed the hike.
For supper Sandy chose The Guadalajara Grill, we did not make reservations but arrived early enough that we were seated immediately. We enjoyed fresh Salsa and by fresh we mean it was made at our table. John finished his plate which was twice as much as he should have eaten and four times what he needed but it was good food helped along by a great big margarita.
The Guadalajara Grill.
Fresh Salsa.
Sandy enjoys supper.
Sandy had a good day, she received a lot of good wishes from Face Book, received cards from family and friends, and this evening enjoyed phone calls from her father, brother and sister; thank you to everyone who took time to wish her well, it made her day special – many more to you sweetheart.

Thanks for the photos of the saguaros. We really miss seeing them this year since we're spending the winter in the east. Also miss the good Tucson Mexican restaurants.
Glad you had a nice birthday in the desert! Sure beats spending it here among the snowdrifts! LOL
Loving your blog and your pics.. thanks for sharing.
