Travel Day to Denton, TX

Today we drove from Benton, Arkansas to Denton, Texas a distance of 306 miles; we will be staying at the Destiny RV Resort. Last nights rain made for a damp morning in Benton but about the time we got moving the sun came out and warmed things up nicely. We avoided Dallas by taking highway 380 west across the north side of the metro area but this road was congested with suburban traffic and stop lights which made for an aggravating and slow drive.

We made one fuel stop in Texarkana where we topped off with less than 30 gallons. A check of our mileage shows we averaged a touch over 8 miles per gallon on this last run, not bad considering we were moving right along trying to get out of the freezing temperatures.

We got in early enough that we set up and played a little ball with the hyper one; Sandy and John were able to walk the park which has 177 sites. No major plans for tomorrow, there is a car, truck and RV wash on the property so the CRV will get a bath and if we are up to it the mothership may also get washed.
